Help & advice
What Hose fittings do I need?

Understand what hose fittings you need. For a basic garden watering set up, you will require the following items, listed in order from the tap to the spray gun / sprinkler:

  1. Tap connector
  2. Hose connector (attach to the end of your hose which will be attached to the tap connector)
  3. Hose
  4. Water stop hose connector (attach to the end of the hose that will have a sprinkler or spray gun attached)

There are multiple ways in which hoses can be set up and this is very much dependent on your need, just remember, whenever you use a hose, you need a hose connector on one end and a water stop hose connector on the other (unless you are using a hose repairer).

What is a Hose Repairer & how do I use it?

A hose repairer ensures the permanent connection of 2 hoses. When using a hose repairer, you will require the following items, listed in order from the tap to the spray gun / sprinkler:

  1. Tap connector
  2. Hose connector (attach to the end of your hose which will be attached to the tap connector)
  3. Hose 1
  4. Hose repairer

What is a Double Male Connector & how do I use it?

A double male connector allows for the easy and temporary connection and separation of 2 hoses when used with hose connectors.

When using a double male connector, you will require the following items, listed in order from the tap to the spray gun / sprinkler:

  1. Tap connector
  2. Hose connector (attach to the end of your hose which will be attached to the tap connector)

What is a 3 Way Connector & how do I use it?

A 3 way connector (or Y connector) allows the easy connection and separation of 3 hoses when used with hose connectors. A 3 way connector is designed to branch a hose in two different directions. Though remember this also means the water pressure is evenly distributed through both branches.

When using a 3 way connector you will require the following items, listed in order from the tap to the spray gun / sprinkler:

  1. Tap connector
  2. Hose connector (attach to the end of your hose which will be attached to the tap connector)
  3. Hose
  4. Water stop hose connector (attach to the end that will have the sprinkler or spray gun attached)
  5. Three way connector
  6. 2 x hose connectors
  7. 2 x hose
  8. 2 x water stop hose connectors (attach to the end that will have the sprinkler or spray gun attached)
